BSS & BALFOUR BEATTY CHARITY CYCLE RIDE GLASGOW TO LEICESTER - DAY 1

Only 320 miles to go to reach the finish line!

A team of intrepid cyclists from BSS and Balfour Beatty Engineering Services have begun their charity cycle challenge.

Nigel Hempsall, Steve Knight, David Percival, and Peter Weatherall from Balfour Beatty & James Gaby, Steve Harris, Andy Raine, Tom Wilson and Andrew Wood from BSS plan to cycle the 320 miles from BBESL Head Office in Hillington, Glasgow to BSS Head Office at Fleet House in Leicester in three days.

The charities they are supporting throughout are Help The Hospices and Building Better Futures. The team are taking a route which involves crossing the Southern Uplands at Beattock Summit (1033ft) and The Lake District at Shap (1398ft).

The picture above shows BSS Tom Wilson and Andy Raine loading up the van to get on the way to Birmingham airport to catch a flight over to Glasgow - estimated time of arrival in Glasgow 6.30pm
