LOCAL COMPANY HEATS THE HOME OF THE TANK

The Bournemouth branch of heating specialist BSS Industrial on Broom Road Business Park has completed its work to provide the Tank Museum in Bovington with a brand new heating system, as its £16 million lottery funded extension nears completion.

BSS supplied new boilers, pipework and fittings at the museum which owns almost 300 vehicles from over 26 countries - making it the world's largest collection of armoured vehicles. Installation work was carried out by Wessex Building Services. The extension is expected to attract higher numbers of visitors to the independent museum as well as increasing support for its research centre which is used by local schools and academics from all over the UK.

Ged Magee, Branch Manager at BSS Bournemouth, said: "The Tank Museum is an integral part of the local area - not just as an attraction but an educational facility. The extension of the museum will help it continue its important work maintaining historical vehicles and educating those who visit the facility. We were proud to play a role in the project by supplying the heating which we hope will keep visitors in the museum for longer!

"We've worked closely with Mike Wood from Wessex Building Services on this project and together have successfully met a tight work schedule alongside the main contractor Norwest Holst."
