BSS INDUSTRIAL ANNOUNCES TIE FOR TOP AWARD

Pegler Yorkshire and Grinnell (Tyco Fire & Building Products) have been announced as joint winners of BSS Industrial’s 2008 Supplier of the Year Award.

This was the second year of success for Pegler Yorkshire, who also scooped the award in 2007 when BSS Industrial first launched the scheme. This year however, the leading supplier of pipeline and heating solutions opened the judging out to staff right across the Company, meaning that everyone from branch staff to the marketing team had the opportunity to vote.

The awards were presented at an event held earlier this month and success was based on assessments of a range of criteria including training, product knowledge, availability, marketing and delivery. But, despite the comprehensive scoring system, both Pegler Yorkshire and Grinnell proved they were worthy of the title.

Sue Greatorex, BSS Industrial's Commercial Director, said: "We have ensured this year that all areas of our business which deal with our major suppliers have had a say in the voting process. Pegler Yorkshire's continued success is a reflection of the close relationships they have right across our business and the resultant sales growth we have both enjoyed in 2007 and 2008. We are also delighted that Grinnell has joined them at the top of the table - this is down to the hard work they have put in working with our regional teams and the award is a just reward for all their efforts."

Commenting on Pegler Yorkshire's award win, David Brown said: "Winning this award two years in a row is great news for us. I think this year our logistics and planning teams deserve credit for all their hard work with BSS Industrial to get its Magna Park warehouse facility up and running. Let's hope we can go for a hat trick next year!"

Mark Hodgetts, Grinnell Sales Director, added: "We're proud to be recognised by a company such as BSS Industrial. We work very closely in partnership with their teams right across the UK and it's great to see that our efforts are appreciated. Maybe we'll even pip Yorkshire to the post in 2009!"
